Staff Permissions

From the Staff Members form, you can either double-lick a staff member or click Edit while they are selected to access the Staff Permissions screen. Here, you will be able to define the user's password and access rules.

Access Restrictions & Security

To the right, you can define what data types they have access to, and what rules apply for those types. Simply click the checkboxes to define what level of access they have for each data type. You can click the blank checkbox in the corner to allow or revoke all permission types with a single click as well.

You can also restrict the Billing and Reports sections for a user with the corresponding checkboxes. You can also restrict a user's ability to modify Word templates via the Word add-in, and re-assign staff. In addition, you can define the maximum number of cases a Staff member can be assigned to by entering a number in the “Max Cases” entry field. The Case Load feature is used as a criteria for Auto Assignment.

To restrict the IP addresses that the user can log in from, simply input which IP addresses the user will be logging in from, separated by commas, in the field. Note: This should be the outbound, or external, IP address that is assigned to your router, NOT your internal, or private, IP address.

You can deactivate a user’s account temporarily with the “Active” checkbox, and you can inform a user who is currently logged in to logoff using the “Log Off” button.

You can also view a log of that user’s actions using the Staff Log tab.

Staff Skills

Staff Skills are an important section of the Staff Edit screen, and are used for determining cases submitted to them via Auto Assignment.

You can select a Staff member's language skills with the provided drop-down fields. In addition, you can also select which Matter/Case/Complaint Types they specialize in with the drop-down fields listed under "Matter/Case/Complaint".
