Rescheduling Events/Task
The Houdini ESQ Calendar is completely interactive, allowing you to reschedule and rearrange events from the Calendar interface. This tutorial will go over the various parts of the Calendar, Views and Filters and how to manipulate calendar items.
The Calendar can be accessed by clicking the Calendar icon on the Fly Menu at the top of your Houdini ESQ desktop.
Double clicking on the Calendar icon from the Fly Menu will open your Calendar.
The Calendar resides in a spring menu. You toggle it open and close by clicking the Calendar icon located in the lower left corner of the spring menu.
1. This is the date selection calendar. It has several functions. You can select a range of dates and move along the given range with ease.
2. This area list all your calendars. You can create and manage your calendars from 'My Profile'
3. This area is the group filter. It has 3 tabs which allows you to groups by one or more Staff, Groups and/or Event/task types.
4. This is the Event/task view. You can view this area as a single day, week, month or custom range using area 1.
5. This is the To Do task list. THis area can be toggled on and off with a single click using the icon above the list.
The Calendar supports many common viewes as well as custom views. The most common views are 1 Day, 1 Week, 31 Days and Schedule view.
To toggle between the views click on of the view icons located at the bottom of the Calendar spring menu.
VIEWS
Day:
The Day view shows only Events that take place on the selected date.
Week:
The Week view displays Events with in the 7 days selected/
Month:
Thw Month view displays Events that take place on the selected month.
Schedule:
The Scheduler is the same as the Day view except it shows that data horizontally. This is benifitail when seeking a time slot to make or schedule an appointment.
List:
The List view simply list all the Events within the selected date range in tabular form.
Custom:
See below
You do not have to use only the Day, Week or Month views. Use the date selection calendar to specify a range. In the above example 3 dates were selected by holding down the [command/control] key while selecting dates.
You can move along the 3 date timeline by using the previous and next icons (red arrows).
You can return to the range to today at anytime by clicking the Today icon (pink arrow).
Filters are maintained at all times, see below.
Located in the lower left hand corner of the Calendar are the filter tabs. The filters allow you to show events according to Staff, Group and/or Event type and any combination you choose.
1. The Staff tab - Allows you to filter events by its Attendees. You can choose multiple Groups by holding down [command/control] key while clicking.
2. The Group tab - Allows you to filter events by one or more groups. Staff members can belong to one or more groups. You can choose multiple Groups by holding down [command/control] key while clicking.
3. The Events tab - Allows you to filter events by type (phone call, meeting, research, etc.) You can choose multiple Groups by holding down [command/control] key while clicking.
You can clear a filter at anytime by clicking the clear/unselect filter icon (red arrow). Note that each tab has its own clear/unselect filter icon. You must click each to clear all filters that may have been applied.
Filters on the Clendar are not saved across sessions.
The HoudiniESQ Group Calendar supports user defined Calendars.
Located below the Date Selction Calendar, you can choose which calendar to view. By default, every Houdini ESQ user has a Work calendar. Other calendars can be defined by going to 'My Profile', going to the Calendar tab and defining new calendars. In this example, this user has Work and a Golf calendar.
The To Do list located to the right of the Calendar shows any tasks assigned that you have assigned to yourself or to others.
The To Do list can be toggled on and off by clicking the todo icon above the list.
To view completed items select the Completed todo check box.
You can reschedule events in any view (1 Day, 7 Day or 30 Day) by rearranging them.
Click the event you would like to move.
Drag the event to the day/time you would like to reschedule it to. You can drag an event event within the day view as well as the 7 day and 30 day views.
To change the duration of an event, click the bottom of the event and drag to change the duration.
